How to play Block Puzzle
Block Puzzle is a placement game on an 8 × 8 grid. Choose a shape, then find a space where all of its squares fit. Completed rows and columns disappear, opening room for more pieces. Planning around the whole board matters more than filling the first available gap.
The rules
- Choose one of the available shapes to see which piece you are placing.
- Select a square on the board as the piece’s anchor. The entire shape must fit inside the grid without overlapping a filled square.
- Fill a complete row or column to clear it. Keep placing shapes until none of your available pieces can fit.
Controls
Click or tap a shape, then click or tap its anchor position on the board. An invalid placement leaves the board unchanged so you can try another position.
How scoring works
Each placed square earns 1 point. Every complete row or column earns 100 more points, with intersecting lines counted separately. The round ends when none of the remaining pieces fits.
Tips for your next round
- Keep space for large or awkward shapes. A board with many empty squares can still be blocked if all the gaps are narrow.
- Check whether one placement can finish both a row and a column before committing to an easier single-line clear.
- Your unfinished round is saved in this browser. Return to the same game, mode, and difficulty to continue. A daily challenge uses the UTC date; clearing browser data removes saved rounds.
Do the blocks fall automatically?
No. You select and place each shape yourself. Think about the available spaces before choosing an anchor position.
What makes a placement invalid?
A shape cannot extend beyond the board or overlap an occupied square. Every square in the selected piece needs an empty space.
