How to play Memory Match

Memory Match is a card matching game with eight pairs hidden in a 4 × 4 grid. There is no countdown, so take your time remembering where each symbol appears. The challenge is to clear the board with as few attempts as possible.

The rules

  1. Turn over any two face-down cards to reveal their symbols.
  2. Matching cards stay face up. If the symbols differ, both cards turn face down again.
  3. Find all eight pairs to finish the round and save your move count.

Controls

Click or tap a card. You can also move between cards with Tab and activate the focused card with Enter or Space.

How scoring works

One attempt to reveal two cards counts as one move, whether it matches or not. Fewer moves is better; eight moves is the theoretical minimum.

Tips for your next round

  • Explore the grid in a consistent order so each symbol has a place in your mental map.
  • When you reveal a symbol you have seen before, use its known partner instead of guessing a new card.

Is there a time limit?

No. Your saved result is the number of moves, so pausing to remember a card does not add a penalty.

Does every round use the same cards?

Each board contains the same eight symbol pairs, but free play shuffles their positions. Daily mode repeats that day’s layout.
