How to play Pattern Memory
Pattern Memory asks you to remember a group of highlighted squares on a 4 × 4 grid. After a short look, the pattern disappears and you select its positions from memory. Five rounds gradually increase the number of squares to remember.
The rules
- Look at the highlighted squares during the preview. You cannot select squares yet.
- When the highlights disappear, select the squares that belonged to the pattern.
- Complete the pattern to earn points. A wrong selection ends that round, reveals the pattern and moves you to the next one.
Controls
Click or tap each remembered square once. You may select the correct squares in any order.
How scoring works
A fully correct round earns 100 points per target square. The five rounds contain 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 targets, for a maximum of 2,500 points. A missed round earns zero.
Tips for your next round
- Remember the pattern as small shapes or clusters instead of sixteen separate positions.
- Use the grid’s edges and corners as anchors, then place the remaining squares relative to them.
Do I need to remember a sequence?
No. Only the positions matter. Unlike a sequence memory game, you can select the remembered squares in any order.
Do partial matches earn points?
No. You need to identify every target in a round without choosing a wrong square to earn that round’s points.
