How to play Snake
Guide a growing snake around a 12 × 12 board and collect the bright food square. The snake moves continuously, and every bite makes its body longer. Your goal is to keep a clear route as the available space shrinks.
The rules
- Start the round and steer the moving snake toward the food.
- Collect food to grow by one segment and earn points.
- Avoid the edges and your own body. A collision ends the round; filling the entire board also completes it.
Controls
Use arrow keys, WASD, swipes or the direction buttons. A direct reversal is ignored. Use the pause control when you need a break.
How scoring works
Every food square is worth 10 points. The highest total becomes your personal best on this device.
Tips for your next round
- Make wide, planned turns and leave a route out of any small space.
- As the snake grows, follow open lanes around the board instead of chasing food through a tight gap.
Can the snake pass through a wall?
No. The edges are solid in this version. Touching a wall ends the round rather than wrapping the snake to the opposite side.
What happens if I switch browser tabs?
The game pauses when the page becomes hidden. Return to the tab and use the resume control to continue.
