How to play Whack-a-Mole
Whack-a-Mole is a short reaction game with a 30-second clock. A target appears in one of the holes, and you tap it before it changes position. Accurate taps matter because the same appearance can only score once.
The rules
- Start the round to begin the 30-second countdown.
- Find the highlighted mole and tap it before it disappears.
- Keep following new targets until time runs out and your hit total is saved.
Controls
Tap or click the highlighted hole. The board uses large buttons for touchscreen and mouse input.
How scoring works
Each valid hit earns one point. Repeated taps on the same appearance do not add points. Missing a target does not subtract from your total.
Tips for your next round
- Keep your pointer or hand near the middle so you can reach any hole quickly.
- Look for the next highlighted target after a hit instead of tapping the same location repeatedly.
How long is a round?
A round lasts 30 seconds from the moment the board starts. The result is your number of successful hits during that time.
Do empty holes give a penalty?
No points are deducted, but an empty hole cannot score. Waiting for an actual target is more useful than tapping randomly.
